Art Galleries have now
taken oven the old fishing village of Matlacha. The secret is coming out
... Matlacha holds some of this earth's real gems and there are plenty to
go 'round! Each of the many art galleries feature unique works found
nowhere else on the planet. Many famous, some soon to be famous and even
some don't-wannabe-famous artists call the Pine Island & Sanibel area home.
Recently their fabulous artwork has been found among the quaint art
galleries along the downtown Matlacha waterfront . Mainstream art can be
found, but the real emphasis is on the sometimes quirky but always
unique pieces you can really cherish. Casual as well as serious art
collectors from the world over find many treasures along our

After 9pm, the only
Matlacha restaurant open is Bert's Bar and Grill which is famous
for NY style pizza awesome wings and real grouper sandwiches. MY
mom's thinks their hamburgers are legendary! A Publix grocery
store is just a mile away with a Beef O'Bradys and another
Chinese restaurant a few doors down. Many more restaurants are
just a few miles away in the Cape Coral business district.
You never know
where you might find one of Florida's endangered Manatees,
famous Snook or Tarpon, or waterfowl such as a Great White
Egret, Blue Heron or even an Osprey or a Bald Eagle. One thing
for sure, you won't miss our beautiful sunsets or sunrises along
