Besides Curt, Carmen is one of the
characters you may meet during your stay at the Sun and Moon
Inn. Above, you see her with a spotted trout. You know, when
she is not taking care of our facility or doing paperwork, Carmen
is probably fishing from the seawall, kayak or another boat. Weather and
time permitting she just might take you for a fishing tour of the famous
estuary that surrounds us here in Matlacha. As you can see in the
image below, she sometimes will let her hair down and relax while
watching the dolphins swim by the waterfront at our lovely tropical
paradise.

Enjoy our awesome fishing, go kayaking, or just watch the
native coconut palms sway in the breeze. Go alone or with a
friend along the pristine costal waters while fishing or
watching the numerous birds such as osprey, pelican,
egret, cormorant, heron, and other wildlife as you paddle
by. See marine mammals like manatee, and dolphin in their
natural habitat. Nature prevails here in Southwest Florida ...and Carmen can

those postcard picture perfect places that will be the setting
for those captivating stories you will tell your grandchildren about later

Enjoy our little bit of paradise here in the
tropics, our sparkling swimming pool and relaxing hot tub. Each
of our 5 well appointed rooms have a full private bath,
refrigerator, ceiling fan, and a very comfortable
bed with high thread count sheets. Our 2 top level rooms also
have a private deck with solid wood table and chairs. From the
rooms ...the views are absolutely stunning! You will see
for miles over the bays and estuaries, watching the schools of
fish, dolphin and manatees coming in from way out the bay.

This photo of Heather's first snook-...she has
always wanted to catch a snook, the one great gamefish that has
eluded her for years. After nearly giving up on the feat,
she finally asked Carmen if she could come and fish with me late
at night to try and catch her first snook...within 15 minutes,
she hooked this 41 inch 20+ lb snook!!! We had to throw it
back of course, but it was a monster and she will NEVER forget
it! It truly was a beautiful fish. |
